Andrew Deschler

Andrew Deschler grew up in Pfafftown, North Carolina, just outside of Winston-Salem. He earned his law degree from Campbell Law School in Raleigh, where he held several leadership and hands-on roles, including serving as Assistant Director of the Pro Bono Council, managing Teen Court for juvenile offenders, and handling civil matters through the Senior Law Clinic. During law school, Andrew also interned with the North Carolina Board of Funeral Services, assisting its attorney with administrative law hearings involving funeral homes.

Andrew began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Rowan County, where he prosecuted cases for four years. His experience as a prosecutor spanned a wide range of matters, including traffic offenses, DWIs, juvenile cases, sex crimes, vehicle death cases, and jury trials. He was specially appointed to handle Juvenile Court matters when North Carolina raised the age of juvenile jurisdiction from 16 to 18.

After his time with the District Attorney’s Office, Andrew joined a small law firm in Concord, North Carolina, where he practiced criminal defense for two years. In this role, he represented clients in cases ranging from traffic tickets to serious misdemeanor and felony charges.

Andrew later accepted the position of Director of Community Empowerment at the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, a nonprofit organization. For nearly two years, he led a legal team focused on helping individuals with criminal record expungements, driver’s license and DMV issues, administrative hearings, and property tax matters. Following significant state and federal funding cuts affecting the organization and nonprofits nationwide, Andrew joined Dmitriy Panchenko at Panchenko Law Firm, where he now concentrates his practice on civil litigation.
